Summer in the City Charm Quilt

I found the charm pack fabrics for this little quilt a couple of years ago and it has been hanging out in my cabinet, waiting its turn to be put together. Yesterday it got its turn and it was worth the wait! It measures 12.5" x 12.5" and is a great size for the following: Doll Quilt, Tabletop Quilt, Placemat (great for if you are single!), Vintage Decor item, and just to have fun quilt! Pumpkin Quilt Top Complete!

Finally!!!!! I love the way this turned out. I didn't want to use the same fabric for the sashings and borders. The border fabric is one of my favorite fabrics in my stash. Now, I have to quilt this huge quilt, it is roughly 71"x74". I guess this will be one of my summer projects!!!
Off to do some things around the house, or I may relax with a movie or show that I taped, or do some Pilate's/Yoga to stretch out. My shoulders are achy from sitting over the sewing machine for the past several days....See ya'!

Pumpkin Quilt Day

Well, I've been to Pilate's already this morning and feel great! :) I have one block and the header block to finish up today on the Pumpkin Quilt. As long as there are no major distractions I should be able to get these done today and start working on the sashing!

Pumpkin Quilt Progress

This morning started off with 8 blocks stitched out, let's see how many I can get finished today! I feel charged up since I finished the Sunflower Shawl yesterday.

Raw Edge Applique'

I wanted to do something fun, fast and easy. So I grabbed a little raw edge applique' pattern that I found and made signs for my studio and Cosmo's room (aka the laundry room). These were really easy to put together. I wanted the lettering to really stand on its own, so I used a solid black background. On "Cosmo's Condo" I recycled batik fabric from my bin of leftovers (I hate to through away fabric, so I save the leftovers in a bin). "The Quilt Studio" letters are out of my handpainted leftovers. I was going to quilt these today, but didn't get to it. They are first on my list for Monday (after Pilates). Time to go get dinner started...Mr. Wonderful is on his way home.

It's in the Bag Finished!

I finished "It's in the Bag" store sample yesterday. It really turned out cute. I quilted it with monofil and used a variety of quilting stitches. If you click on the pictures you can see some of the detail of the quilting. With the pattern fabric it is hard to see all the quilting I did. If you are in the Dallas area, the Dallas Quilt Celebration is March 14-15, 2009 at the Dallas Market Hall and you can see this quilt in person at the Bernina of Dallas booth. Come and enjoy the fun!

It's in the Bag

It's in the Bag is a quilt out of "Those Crazy Kids" by The Buggy Barn. I work part-time for the Bernina Sewing Center in Dallas, Texas and get to sew samples for the store. The Dallas Quilt Celebration is coming up and this is my sample for the store to use in their booth at the show. This sample is smaller than the quilt in the book, but it is precious. Hopefully I will be able to pin and quilt it today, well, at least get started...
The book has the quilt made in solids, but I had to use prints to jazz it up. I love the way it turned out! I'll post the finished quilt when I'm done!
